Over three weeks after the 2025 season ended in Chicago, the Green Bay Packers announced contract extensions for coach Matt LaFleur, general manager Brian Gutekunst and vice president/director of football operations Russ Ball on Friday.

Policy released this statement along with the announcement on the three extensions:

"We are excited to extend our commitment to Brian, Matt and Russ as the leaders of our football operations. Their steadfast dedication, passion and collaboration have remained constant in our drive to compete at the highest level. While we are all disappointed with the way this season ended, we remain aligned in purpose and have spent considerable time over the past weeks collaborating on a path forward. I am exceedingly confident we have the right people to achieve our goal. The entire Packers organization looks forward to supporting every effort to bring our community and fans another championship that they very much deserve."

LaFleur, Gutekunst and Ball have been together in Green Bay since 2019, when Gutekunst and Ball teamed with Mark Murphy to hire LaFleur as head coach. The trio has led the Packers to playoff appearances in six of seven seasons together. Gutekunst was named general manager in 2018, replacing Ted Thompson. Ball has been in various roles with the Packers since 2008 and is the team’s chief contract negotiator.

The Packers announced all three extensions as “multi-year” extensions, meaning the franchise’s decision makers are in place for several years into the future.
