Pacers second-year forward Johnny Furphy landed awkwardly after a dunk in the third quarter of Sunday's game against the Raptors and went down in pain clutching his right leg around the knee area. Furphy had to be helped off the floor and then was put in a wheelchair to get into the tunnel toward the locker room.

He has been ruled out with right leg soreness.

The 21-year-old Furphy, a native of Australia who played one year of college basketball at Kansas, entered Sunday's game averaging 5.2 points and 4.4 rebounds per game, shooting 46.6% from the floor and 32.4% from 3-point range. He's started 20 of the 34 games he's appeared in, bringing physicality on the boards and multi-positional defense. Pacers coach Rick Carlisle has said repeatedly that he's been thrilled with his defense and unselfish approach.

With Furphy's injury the Pacers are down to just nine available players. All-Star point guard Tyrese Haliburton and Obi Toppin are out with long-term injuries. Recently-acquired center Ivica Zubac and forward Kobe Brown have not yet joined the team on the road, and the Pacers do not have any of their two-way contract players active.
