INDIANAPOLIS -- Pacers guard Bennedict Mathurin will return to action against the Bucks in Tuesday's Game 5 of the first round of the NBA Eastern Conference playoffs after missing Sunday's Game 4 with an abdominal contusion coach Rick Carlisle said in his pre-game press conference.
Mathurin suffered the injury in a collision with Bucks two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo in Friday's Game 3. Carlisle said after Game 4 that Mathurin was struggling to sleep and to eat after the game.
Mathurin finished third on the Pacers in both scoring and rebounding with 16.1 points and 5.3 rebounds per game this season. He started 49 games at shooting guard and small forward but has mostly come off the bench since forward Aaron Nesmith returned to the starting lineup in mid-February. He averaged 12.0 points per game in the first three playoff games.
