The wait is nearly over. In just a few short hours, Raiders fans will know which direction the franchise has charted with its No. 6 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft.

While there will be no shortage of good options at No. 6 for new Raiders general manager John Spytek, a new favorite appears to be emerging on draft eve.

Las Vegas has so often been linked to Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty in the buildup to draft night, but multiple draft analysts now have a different projected pick in mind for the Raiders.

In his final NFL mock draft based on what he's been hearing from NFL scouts and evaluators, ESPN's Matt Miller projects the Raiders to select Texas offensive tackle Kelvin Banks at No. 6.

Multiple sources told me the Raiders could go offensive line here despite being heavily connected to Jeanty and Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham. With Kolton Miller not locked up long-term, Banks would be the answer at left tackle. - Matt Miller, ESPN.

Vic Tafur, a Raiders reporter for The Athletic, also projected Las Vegas to snatch up Banks at No. 6 in 1010XL's media mock draft.

The rationale makes plenty of sense. Las Vegas could use an insurance plan for Kolton Miller at left tackle. Or, the Raiders just wind up with their two long-term answers at offensive tackle if the franchise opts to sign Miller to an extension.

That scenario could leave 2024 third-round pick DJ Glaze on the outside looking in of a starting slot, but depth up front isn't a bad problem for the franchise to have.

Banks just completed his junior season with Texas where he was recognized with both the Lombardi Award and Outland Trophy. A native of Humble, Texas, Banks allowed just 10 pressures this past season and he finished with an 86.0 offensive grade according to Pro Football Focus, which was tops among Texas' offensive starters.

Out of Summer Creek High School, Banks was a five-star signee and was ranked as the No. 6 player nationally according to On3 in the 2022 signing class.

Perhaps this late buzz is an indication of what Thursday night will bring for the silver and black.
