The OU Board of Regents will consider approving the issuance of bonds in an approximate amount of $420 million, which will provide funding for the construction of student housing, parking and athletics projects — a portion of which would go toward Gaylord Family — Oklahoma Memorial Stadium master plan updates.
The board will meet at 8 a.m. Tuesday at the OU Health Campus in Oklahoma City.
The design for the west side stadium renovations includes 47 suites, 64 loge boxes, approximately 4,000 new club seats and more improved fan amenities with construction anticipated to commence following the 2027 season. The project is being funded entirely from athletics funds and private donations.
The project also includes a new expanded press box, sideline-oriented sports lighting system and sound system enhancements.
Regents will also consider authorizing a $2.3 million purchase agreement with Opendorse Inc, which would provide the Sooners exclusive access to an NIL software platform. The platform is designed to enhance NIL opportunities and enable revenue generation.
The board will also consider approving an estimated total project budget of $49 million for the Kimrey Family Stadium, OU's baseball stadium, phase 1 and phase 2 projects. The regents previously approved $45 million for the project.
