The Lakers are aggressively pursuing athletic rim protecting centers on the trade market.Nic Claxton and Robert Williams are two players to keep a very close eye on over the next few days.

The Mavericks should have gotten the Lakers other first round draft pick. It's bizarre how they left that on the table.

Makes me think Lakers looking for that athletic center as mentioned before. They aren't done dealing. Maybe Mavs aren't either. This just made this week much better for trades.

And both teams are doing these trades on a budget, unlike another franchise I know.

That's the one piece that doesn't add up. I agree 1000% the Mavs should have made them cave on that. That's either a good GM in LA or a bad one in Dallas.

League sources say that the Warriors did seriously explore trade constructions that would have brought both Zach LaVine and Nikola Vučević to the Bay Area before Golden State opted to focus on other trade pursuits.More NBA trade coverage from me: https://tinyurl.com/jare3rvm

If we get stuck with Beal this trade deadline, I'm good standing pat and keeping our draft picks. Maybe using both the ones we have this year. Time helps us with Nurkic because he becomes expiring. We also could use him as a back up center. Not ideal, but he's workable. Beal is Beal. Probably going to have to wait his contract out, bottom line.

In light of major NBA movement recently, a few teams that are scheduled to travel on Feb. 6 of the trade deadline have adjusted itineraries after realizing the team would be in the air when the deadline passed. This is to prevent a potential awkward flight.
