Jedd Fisch and the Washington Huskies can never have enough elite, versatile wide receivers to add to a young, evolving core.

Despite holding four pass-catchers in the 2027 class, four-star IMG Academy standout Osani Gayles is set to descend on Seattle this weekend with the chance of becoming the fifth four-star receiver for UW in this year's cycle.

At 5-foot-11 and 185 pounds, Gayles has the frame of a slot receiver, but all the traits, ball skills, and speed to play all three positions for Fisch and wide receivers coach Kevin Cummings. The California native is coming off a small sample size season in his first year playing for the Florida high school powerhouse, IMG Academy, recording 20 receptions for 492 yards and 5 touchdowns in 2025.

Gayles possesses ideal speed to thrive in Fisch's offense with a 10.7 100-meter dash time as a freshman at St. Mary's High School in Stockton, California, but not just as a true wide receiver.

Similar to former four-star Long Beach Jordan athlete and current Huskies' redshirt sophomore running back Jordan Washington, the No. 35 overall-ranked prospect in the 2027 class, per 247Sports' rankings, can also fashion himself as a scat-running back, akin to the old school athlete label given in the high school football recruiting world.

Thanks @Ballhawk__8 and @UW_Football for having me at practice it was ‼️

With a pair of tall, outside receivers secured in Sumner (Wash.) four-star Braylon Pope and Pflugerville (Tex.) Weiss four-star Tre Moore, along with versatile four-star Peoria (Ariz.) Dontay Tyson, and another undersized four-star pass catcher in Zerek Sidney out of Desert Edge (Ariz.), Gayles would cement the Huskies' incoming class with an elite, all-around offensive threat to add to the '27 haul.

Gayles has already made official visits to Stanford (May 22-23) and Alabama (May 29-30) before his trip to Seattle. After the weekend, the four-star has visits set to Tennessee (June 12-13) and Notre Dame (June 19-20), before a decision shortly after on June 27.
