Feb. 15—BIGFORK — Avery Orme scored 14 points and collected 10 rebounds to lead Whitefish past Bigfork 41-40 in Northwest A girls basketball on Saturday evening. Allie Shors scored seven points in the first quarter to lead Whitefish (12-5 overall, 8-3 in Northwest A games) to an early 17-13 lead; she finished with 11 and Reese Hudson contributed 10. Paeten Gunlock led all scorers with 22 points for Bigfork (14-5, 11-2). The Valkyries remain atop the Northwest A conference. Whitefish travels to face Columbia Falls on Tuesday, with the girls set for 6:00 p.m. tip-off and the boys to follow. Both C-Falls teams won the first matchup in the Cat-Dog rivalry on Feb. 6. Rylee Taylor-Jefferson led Polson (9-8, 5-6) with 22 points, including two triples.
