Triple-A: Durham Bulls (Rays) 7, Norfolk Tides 5
The Tides led this game 5-1 before Durham exploded for six runs in the seventh inning. Norfolk starter Chris Kachmar tossed 4.2 innings of one run ball before things fell apart. Kachmar allowed six hits, walked three and struck out two.
Christian Herberholz coughed up the six runs. The majority of the damage came on a grand slam by Jake Cave. Nick Raquet tossed 1.1 scoreless innings of relief.
Norfolk put itself in position to win the game with homers by Ryan Noda, Bryan Ramos and Heston Kjerstad. Kjerstad’s big fly plated Enrique Bradfield Jr. and capped the Tides scoring at five. Kjerstad and Noda both finished 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs.
Dylan Beavers went 1-for-4 with a single and one strikeout.
Double-A: Harrisburg Senators 5, (Nationals) Chesapeake Baysox 1
Chesapeake’s Evan Yates started with three scoreless innings but gave up four runs in the fourth. Yates allowed five hits, struck out five, and walked two. Harrisburg got to Yates with a two-run blast, a run-scoring triple, and a sacrifice fly.
Keagan Gillies, Ryan Long, and Gerald Orgando combined for five innings of one-run relief, but the Baysox bats failed to mount a comeback.
Douglas Hodo III drove in the only run with a ground out in the fifth inning. The Baysox only managed four hits in the loss. Tavian Josenberger doubled for the only extra-base hit.
High-A: Wilmington Blue Rocks (Nationals) 9, Frederick Keys 8 F/13
The Keys led this game 5-0 before allowing five runs in the bottom of the ninth. I guess that’s just the Baltimore culture seeping through at every level. Tyson Neighbors was charged with five runs in the ninth after recording only one out. Neighbors allowed four hits, one walk, and one long ball.
Both teams scored in the 10th, 11th, and 12th innings. Frederick failed to plate a run in the 13th, and Wilmington won the game with a fly ball to right.
Ike Irish finished 2-for-6, Wehiwa Aloy went 2-for-7, and Victor Figueroa finished 3-for-6.
Low-A: Fayettville Woodpeckers 5, (Astros) Delmarva Shorebirds 1
Esteban Mejia started and lasted 2.2 innings. Mejia only allowed one hit, but that hit was a home run. He also walked three and struck out two. Dalton Neuschwander, a 10th round pick in 2025, allowed two runs over 5.1 innings of bulk relief.
The Shorebirds scored their only run of the game on a throwing error in the second inning. Jaiden Lo Re tallied two of Delmarva’s four hits.
