Nick Ahmed was included on the Diamondbacks’ Opening Day roster but was left out of the starting lineup on Thursday, and manager Torey Lovullo said his shortstop was day-to-day with right knee issues. Lovullo left open the possibility that Ahmed starts on Friday but made it sound far from a sure thing. We’ll keep pushing it back 24 hours and keep having the same conversation,” Lovullo said.

It really only matters on opening day. After that dude will pitch when it is his turn. I think what you mean to all is if the Dbacks will keep putting him out there at all and the answer to that is of course.

The Madbum acquisition is a big blemish for Hazen and the front office. I wouldn't mind him cheap and a back of the rotation starter but he's so inconsistent. He will fan dudes left and right but then turns around and gives up meatballs.
