Olivier Pantaloni rejects Nantes approach

Olivier Pantaloni, who will leave FC Lorient at the end of the season, has rejected an approach from FC Nantes, as per a report from Ouest-France.

Pantaloni is expected to be sought after this summer. He has already announced his impending departure from Lorient. His contract is up at the end of the season and there will be no renewal, with the manager stating that he felt a lack of trust from the club’s hierarchy.

Nantes, who, despite a shock 3-0 win over Olympique de Marseille last weekend, are set for relegation to Ligue 2, will be in the market for a new manager. Vahid Halilhodzic, brought in on a short-term deal, is set to depart.

Pantaloni was a target, but he has rejected the approach from the Kita family. It is thought that the Lorient manager is the favourite to take over at Toulouse FC at the end of the season. Nantes will now turn to alternative targets, including former Paris FC manager Stéphane Gilli.
