Choctaw County High School four-star defensive lineman Ben’Jarvius Shumaker has committed to Ole Miss, he announced on social media Friday. Shumaker, a member of the 2027 recruiting class, is ranked as the No. 62 overall recruit and No. 5 defensive lineman in the 247Sports Composite. He is listed at 6-foot-3, 285 pounds.
Shumaker is the highest-ranked player in the Rebels’ 2027 class, per 247Sports. The class is currently ranked 20th nationally.
Last season for the Chargers, Shumaker racked up 8.5 sacks and 24 tackles for loss according to MaxPreps. He was a second-team selection to MaxPreps’ Junior All-American team.
