The Oklahoma Sooners have won the College World Series.
Oklahoma topped North Carolina 13-2 in the deciding Game 3 of the College World Series finals. The Sooners claimed Game 1 before dropping Game 2 to set up the winner-take-all final matchup.
Oklahoma jumped on the Tar Heels' pitching early, racking up six runs in the first four innings of the game. Lovejoy product Kyle Branch got the scoring started with an RBI single in the first inning and tacked on a two-run single in the sixth inning. To top all of that off, Branch blasted a three-run home run in the eighth inning with his brother Kolby, who also homered in his final at-bat of the CWS for Georgia, in the stands to witness the spectacle.

The Sooners broke things open in the fourth inning, not with a bunch of big hits, but with a bunch of walks instead. Oklahoma hitters drew five walks in the inning and extended the lead to 6-1 in the process.
Dayton Tockey, a former Weatherford standout, got in on the fun for the Sooners in the fifth inning with a solo home run to right field that gave Oklahoma a 7-1 lead. McKinney Boyd product and freshman pitcher Nick Wesloski got the start for Oklahoma, allowing just one run on five hits in 2⅓ innings while striking out three batters.
Oklahoma capitalized on the 12th trip to Omaha in program history, winning the College World Series for the third time and first time since 1994. The Sooners got to Omaha three other times since their last national championship, including a runner-up finish in 2022, but were finally able to cap things with a title in 2026.
