Lauren shared glimpses of the trip through a series of Instagram stories and wrote, “home for the week.” In one of those stories, McDavid was spotted wearing a light-colored t-shirt, dark shorts, and white shoes.
The couple appeared relaxed while enjoying the scenic surroundings of the luxury resort. Known for its private villas and atmosphere, Turks and Caicos has become a favorite destination among celebrities and athletes.

McDavid and Kyle’s relationship dates back to 2015, when they first met during a mutual friend’s celebration party in McDavid’s rookie NHL season. The couple later moved into their custom-designed Edmonton home in 2017, with Kyle playing a major role in its interior design.
Their relationship reached another milestone in 2023 when McDavid proposed during a family vacation in Chicago. A year later, the couple married during a multi-day celebration on a private island in Muskoka, Ontario.

The relaxing vacation comes after a difficult season for McDavid and the Oilers. Edmonton entered the 2025-26 campaign with Stanley Cup expectations after consecutive Final appearances in 2024 and 2025. However, injuries and inconsistency derailed the season.
McDavid still led the NHL with 138 points and captured another Art Ross Trophy. He also represented Team Canada at the 2026 Winter Olympics, winning MVP honors. Despite those achievements, Edmonton suffered a first-round playoff exit against the Anaheim Ducks in six games.
Following the elimination, head coach Kris Knoblauch revealed McDavid had been playing through a fracture in his foot and ankle area. The injury affected his explosiveness throughout the postseason as the Oilers struggled with depth scoring, defensive lapses, and fatigue.
