The Ohio State Buckeyes women's basketball team went through a bit of a rough stretch in February, going on a 1-3 skid at one point, but that wasn't enough to derail an excellent season in Columbus. With a 26-7 overall record, the Buckeyes earned a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Unlike in the men's tournament, top four seeds host the first two rounds in the women's tournament, so the Buckeyes will get to play their first two games in Columbus this postseason.

In the first round, the Buckeyes will face the Howard Bison on Saturday. If the Buckeyes win that game, they will play in the second round on Monday, facing the winner of Notre Dame vs Fairfield. The Buckeyes will be on upset alert in that one, as Notre Dame is a consistent powerhouse. The Irish are in a bit of a down year, but are still wildly talented and could definitely trouble the Buckeyes on the right day.

This region is in Forth Worth, so if Ohio State reaches the Sweet Sixteen, the Buckeyes will be traveling down to Texas. The No. 2 seed in this region is Vanderbilt. The Commodores are led by Mikayla Blakes, who leads the nation in scoring with 27.0 points per game. (Ohio State's Jaloni Cambridge is No. 8 in the country in scoring, with 22.8 points per game.)

And if the Buckeyes do manage to reach the Elite Eight, they will almost certainly face No. 1 overall seed UConn. The Huskies played the Buckeyes way back in November, dominating Ohio State in a 100-68 victory. The Buckeyes have certainly improved since then, but if this team wants to make it to the Final Four, they'll need to find something very special for that matchup.
