Norway's Jens Lurås Oftebro beat Austrian World Cup leader Johannes Lamparter again to complete a first Nordic combined large hill and normal hill events double at Winter Olympics on Tuesday.

Oftebro attacked from a three-man leader group in the closing stages to beat Lamparter by 5.9 seconds in the 10 kilometres cross country pursuit. Finland's Ilkka Herola got bronze with a deficit of 14.8 seconds.

Lamparter placed second in the morning large hill ski jump, soon passed leader Ryota Yamamoto of Japan, who is not a strong cross country skier, and led a chase group including Oftebro and Herola by 17 seconds after 2.5km.

But they caught Lamparter at the halfway mark and it was down to a fight for the colour of the medals once a fourth skier, Norway's Andreas Skoglund was dropped.

Oftebro prevailed again like in last week's normal event for a second gold, Lamparter got a second silver and Finland a second bronze, after Eero Hirvonen had come third last week.

Oftebro now has three golds overall, having also helped Norway to the team event title in 2022 when he also got large hill/10km silver.

The Olympic Nordic combined events conclude with the large hill team sprint on Thursday.
