Three-time UEFA Women’s Champions League winner Salma Paralluelo has officially left FC Barcelona after not renewing her contract. The 22-year-old left winger, known for her amazing burst of speed and long list of honors, is now a free agent.
In addition to three European titles with Barça, she won 12 other titles with the club. She was instrumental in many successes for the Catalans, memorably scoring twice and assisting once more in the CL final against OL Lyonnes. Those two goals in Barcelona’s 4-0 triumph ended up being her last for the club.
Arsenal, London City Lionesses, Paris Saint-Germain, and OL themselves are interested in her services. She’s due a big payout considering her success. Chelsea have already reportedly exited the bidding due to her financial demands.
In addition to her achievements at club level, Paralluelo was instrumental in Spain’s FIFA World Cup win in 2023. She’s the first player, male or female, to win the competition in addition to the U-20 and U-17 editions.
It’ll be an interesting summer window for Barcelona Femení. Alexia Putellas, Ona Batlle, and Mapi León have already left. The club has some big holes to fill in the transfer market.
