Official | AS Monaco to face Liverpool in pre-season friendly
Liverpool FC have announced that they will host AS Monaco in a pre-season friendly game at Anfield on Sunday, August 9, early in the afternoon (2:30 BST). This likely to be’s AS Monaco’s penultimate summer friendly considering that Les Monégasques will return back to Ligue 1 action a fortnight later. Monaco are also set to play the 2026-2027 Conference League play-offs in August.
The Reds will face the Principality side for the first time since the group stage of the 2004-05 Champions League, that Liverpool famously ended up winning after wiping out a 3-0 deficit in the final against Carlo Ancelotti’s Milan.
Both Liverpool and AS Monaco are currently managerless after the clubs respectively parted ways with Arne Slot and Sébastien Pocognoli. The Reds are poised to appoint Andoni Iraola, wheras Monaco are set to sign Filipe Luis.
