After not playing at all last season, wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. appears to be close to making an NFL comeback.
According to SNY’s Connor Hughes, Beckham, who did not play at all last season, worked out for the New York Giants on Monday morning.
The New York Post’s Ryan Dunleavy adds that Beckham then took a physical after the workout.
Hughes notes that a source told him “nothing is happening right now,” but the simple fact that the former All-Pro is doing all that suggests a reunion is at least close.
Of course, Beckham was a first-round pick of the Giants back in 2014 and rose to superstardom with Big Blue.
He secured AP Offensive Rookie of the Year, three Pro Bowls and two second-team All-Pro nods over his first three seasons in the NFL and was one of the league’s best players at his position.
After five seasons with the Giants, Beckham was traded to the Cleveland Browns in 2019, where he posted a single 1,000-yard season before his career declined.

Following that 1,000-yard season in 2019, Beckham struggled with injuries and wasn’t able to regain his elite form.
After two-plus seasons with the Browns, Beckham was waived in 2021 and then latched on with the Los Angeles Rams, where he won a Super Bowl in his lone campaign there.
He suffered a torn ACL in said Super Bowl and managed to finish out the game, but he missed the entire 2022 season as a result of the injury.
He has since spent stints with the Baltimore Ravens (2023) and Miami Dolphins (2024), but wasn’t much of a factor in Baltimore and had his worst season as a pro with Miami.
More recently, Beckham took part in the Fanatics Flag Football Classic, where he reignited some attention for himself with some nice catches.
“Looking forward to hopefully getting an opportunity to play this year, and hopefully, this is kinda just a starting point,” Beckham told Kay Adams at the event.

Despite having plans to play in 2025, Beckham never latched on with a team after his nine-game tenure with the Dolphins.
He also had to serve a six-game suspension after failing a performance-enhancing drug test. Beckham denied knowingly taking a banned substance.
The biggest reason for Beckham not playing last season likely had to do with a lack of team interest.
New York’s interest in Beckham is the first we’ve heard of any team being willing to kick the tires on the veteran wideout in a long time.

New Giants head coach John Harbaugh had previously admitted the team was considering signing the 33-year-old.
The interest does make at least some sense. Granted, Beckham is a shell of the player he once was, but New York could use more depth at wide receiver for Jaxson Dart.
Beckham also has a connection with Harbaugh, who he played for in 2023 with the Ravens.
