Marion County saw three of its high school baseball teams collect district titles last week as North Marion, Trinity Catholic and Vanguard came out of district tournament play unscathed.

With their district championship trophies in tow, that trio of teams locked up their spots in the FHSAA playoffs.

And as it turns out, with the FHSAA releasing its state baseball brackets on Monday, April 20, the Colts, Celtics and Knights are the only baseball teams that will represent the Ocala area in the playoffs.

Here's a look at each playoff-bound team's path before the playoffs get underway. Be sure to check back here for updates as games are played.

North Marion

Record: 18-6

Class: 3A

Last game: 3-2 win over Umatilla in district championship

Next game: vs. No. 8 Titusville in regional quarterfinal; April 25, 7 p.m.

Following its district championship win over Umatilla, the North Marion Colts find themselves as the top dogs in Class 3A-Region 2. As the region's No. 1 seed, North Marion will host No. 8 seed Titusville (10-9) on Saturday, April 25, at 7 p.m. in a region quarterfinal.

Should North Marion win Saturday's single-game region quarterfinal, it will advance into the semifinals, where it will host the winner of No. 4 South Sumter and No. 5 Palatka in a best-of-three series on May 1-2.

Trinity Catholic

Record: 21-5

Class: 2A

Last game: 9-7 win over Newberry in district championship

Next game: vs. No. 5 Bozeman in regional quarterfinal; April 25, 7 p.m.

The Trinity Catholic Celtics find themselves competing in one of the deepest classifications in the sport. While the Celtics are ranked the 29th-best team in the entire state, according to the FHSAA's final rankings, they are the eighth-ranked team in Class 2A.

As such, Trinity Catholic drew a four-seed for the FHSAA tournament, setting up a playoff-opening date with No. 5 Bozeman (20-6) on Saturday at 7 p.m. Thanks to their district championship win, the Celtics get the advantage of hosting the Bucks in Ocala.

Should Trinity Catholic win Saturday's single-game Region 1-2A quarterfinal, the Celtics will turn their attention to the winner of No. 1 seed Trinity Christian and No. 8 seed Florida High. Assuming the bracket shakes out how the seeding implies it will, Trinity Catholic would most likely hit the road to Jacksonville to take on Trinity Christian, which ranks No. 4 in the state in the FHSAA's final rankings, for a best-of-three semifinal on May 1-2.

Vanguard

Record: 17-7

Class: 4A

Last game: 8-3 win vs. Dunnellon in district championship

Next game: vs. No. 6 Hardee in regional quarterfinal; April 24, 7 p.m.

The Vanguard Knights will open their FHSAA playoff run with a home game vs. Hardee (15-10) on Friday, April 24, at 7 p.m. Before losing its district championship game vs. Lake Wales, Hardee had rattled off seven straight victories.

Should Vanguard survive and advance vs. the Wildcats in Friday's single-game Region 2-4A quarterfinal, the Knights will prepare to face the winner of No. 2 seed Eustis and No. 7 seed Weeki Wachee in a best-of-three semifinal on May 1-2. Should it be Eustis that Vanguard sees next, the Knights will hit the road for an away game. However, if Vanguard advances and Weeki Wachee pulls the upset, the Knights would host at the higher seed.
