The Mets had an opportunity to grab a series win slip by the wayside on Saturday night in San Diego.

The Mets entered the seventh inning holding a narrow one-run lead before Austin Warren surrendered a go-ahead two-run home run to Freddy Fermin. The Mets had an opportunity to bounce back snuffed out when Juan Soto lined into an inning-ending double play with two on and one out in the eighth.

Now, the Mets will have a second chance to secure a series win and a .500 road trip as they complete their series with the Padres at 4:10 p.m. on Sunday afternoon at Petco Park.

Saturday's win snapped a six-game losing streak for the Padres, while the Mets enter Sunday's action with a 28-36 record.

Huascar Brazoban is serving as the opener for Sunday's finale before Sean Manaea is expected to take on the bulk innings.

Brazoban is 3-1 with a 2.25 ERA and 1.00 WHIP in 27 games, including five starts. Manaea is coming off one of his most encouraging performances of the season as he allowed one earned run on a solo home run across five innings to the Mariners last time out on June 1.

The left-hander is 0-1 with a 5.08 ERA this season but has allowed six earned runs in 17 combined innings (3.18 ERA) across six appearances since the start of May.

The Padres will counter with Randy Vasquez, who is 5-3 with a 3.31 ERA and 1.22 WHIP in 12 starts this season. The 27-year-old right-hander allowed two earned runs over five innings last time out against the Phillies.
