On Thursday, the National Women’s Soccer League announced growth across the league in key metrics, milestones, and performance benchmarks.
“Building on a historic 2025 campaign, the NWSL continues to see strong growth across every major business and sporting metric, reinforcing the league’s position as one of the fastest-growing professional sports properties in North America.”
At the midseason mark, the NWSL is averaging 11,044 fans per match, a 10% increase – this would mark the fourth consecutive year the league has drawn an average of over 10,000 fan per match.
It’s also the season where the National Women’s Soccer League has reached one million fans in attendance the fastest in its history.
The highlight was the Empower Field at Mile High attendance record of 63,004 fans between Denver Summit and Washington Spirit – the largest crowd ever for a U.S. professional women’s sporting event.
In regard to viewership across broadcast, streaming and digital platforms to reach their audience at record levels.
On socials, the league is up to 3.1 million followers.
How about merch sales? Clubs are up 72% from year-over-year and NWSL Shop has ballooned up 207%.
The NWSL’s parity continues to set it apart from other leagues as well.
The league shared the followed stats:
- 10% more upsets compared to the same point last season
- Twice as many matches decided after the 75th minute
- 14% fewer draws, creating more decisive results and higher-stakes outcomes
