I know nothing about Moreno, but in looking at the Twitter comments, Blue Jay fans seem quite high on him.

Lourdes Gurriel is an excellent piece as well. Moreno top power catching prospect.

Moreno was the #7 ranked prospect in all of baseball in the mid season MLB.com rankings.

I really liked Varsho, but I understand the move. Moreno is 22 years old and matches the timeline of our top prospects. If everybody pans out, they will have a short cost-controlled window to make some noise before they all get paid big bucks elsewhere.

Wow on the Athletic the Blue Jays fans are in full meltdown.

I mean Moreno for Varsho alone is fair. Lourdes is probably our every day 3rd baseman.

Hard to lose Varsho, who might be the best defensive outfielder in the league, AND has a good bat.

DBacks seemed to do well in the trade, though.

Jays would be smart to never start Varsho at catcher again.

They have Alejandro Kirk and his .370 obp at catcher and he is like 25.

Plus Danny Jansen. Varsho is only an OF for them.

However, they have Keirermeir too so Varsho may not even play CF

Kieremeier is constantly hurt and can't really hit. I hope this works out but there are a lot of former top ten prospects that don't perform as well as Varsho has shown to produce.

I don't think we received a top 10 prospect for goldy.

we did give up a top guy in Swanson for for miller....

that said, is Swanson a top 5 middle infielder? is he even a top 20 position players on mlb?
