Notre Dame football has quite the different media days that most other teams, as it consists of a trip to New York City for head coach Marcus Freeman and some of the players.

The Irish announced on Wednesday which four players will be joining Freeman: cornerback Leonard Moore, safety Adon Shuler, quarterback CJ Carr and linebacker Drayk Bowen. Typically the players picked are upperclassmen, which is exactly the case, and it is usually the biggest stars on the team which these four are.

All of them have been named to preseason award watch or All-American lists, as they are the most recognizable faces to fans who aren’t knee deep in Notre Dame football. It is a bit surprising that only one offensive player was selected, as it’s normally two from each side of the ball. However, Carr is a great choice and with multiple unknowns at the skill positions, it made sense to go with another defender who is a household name.

It should be an exciting time for the four and Freeman, who will make multiple stops for interviews during their visit to NYC.
