Notre Dame football is not afraid to go after any prospect in recruiting, wether their uncommitted for not, but one of its flip targets won’t be changing his mind.

The Irish were linked as one of a few team that was threatening Ohio State for wide receiver Jamier Brown, but according to a report by Eleven Warriors, that won’t be happening. The 2027 247Sports Composite 5-star said over the weekend that he is shutting down his recruitment, and won’t be flipping.

This is a bit of a blow to the Irish’s 2027 recruiting efforts, as they were looking to add another top receiver talent to go along with current commitment Jackson Coleman. Unfortunately, this continues a surprising bad trend with the position, as in-state 5-star Monshun Sales left Notre Dame off his final list.

However there is positive momentum with California’s Osani Gayles, and legacy Julius Jones. While it’s a bit discouraging that Brown has shut things down, the Irish still have plenty of other targets that could join Coleman in the Blue and Gold, although none of them are 5-star talents.
