Norwich boss unhappy with referee as he gives update on latest injury worry
Norwich City manager Philippe Clement was left unhappy with the referee after Mathias Kvistgaarden sustained a back injury in their season opener.
The Canaries kicked off the new season with a dominant 4-1 victory over MK Dons in the Carabao Cup. However, their was more negative news for Norwich on the injury front.
After Ali Ahmed suffered an ACL injury earlier this week, Kvistgaarden could now be joining him on the sidelines at Carrow Road. The Canaries are expected to revisit the transfer market after their recent injury woes.
Kvistgaarden was forced off after an MK Dons defender challenged him with a knee in the back. The Danish striker had only entered the action 15 minutes earlier, and Clement was less than pleased with the challenge.
“Yeah, his back hurts a lot,” said the Norwich boss. “You saw it was a nasty fall with the knee in the back and the player knows really well what he’s doing in that moment.
“So I’m disappointed that these things get yellow cards. Because a player can be out for a really long time if he’s unlucky with that one.
“I don’t think it’s the case. I hope not, but we will see in the next couple of days.”
