The Norway National Soccer Team scored the biggest victory in the country’s history on Sunday. And the Vikings celebrated the same way Garden State soccer players have for decades.
With a New Jersey pizza party.
Norway defeated five-time World Cup champion Brazil, 2-1, in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Round of 16. After leaving MetLife Stadium victorious, the team dined on 20 pizzas from Bagels by Jarrett in West Orange.
So how did a bunch of Norwegians end up with a bunch of North Jersey pizzas?
“Friday morning a customer of mine on IG messaged me,” Jarrett Seltzer told NJ.com. “She said ‘my husband needs pizzas on Sunday for the Norwegian World Cup team.’”
The customer’s husband is a chef at Norway’s hotel, and he wanted pizzas for the team’s post-game meal.

While Bagels by Jarrett is best-known for its bagels, the shop serves everything from sandwiches and burgers to pizza. Norway’s order was 20 pizzas, heavy on pepperoni. But there was one custom pie with very specific toppings: peppers, onions, raw garlic and diced jalapeños.
“I think we have a Wednesday pizza special,” Jarrett said. “‘The Norway.’”
It turns out winning the first knock-out game in country history works up quite an appetite — Jarrett was told Norway’s players finished 18 pies in 25 minutes.
Jarrett was honored to feed a team playing in the World Cup. He was even more honored that he got to feed them after such a thrilling victory.
“It means the world that a chef that’s been trusted by the team would trust me with being a part of feeding them after a game,” Jarrett said. “I was rooting for Norway like I bet my house on them. Pizza tastes so much better when you win. It gave me a little edge.”
Jarrett found himself yelling as World Cup breakout star Erling Haaland scored the two decisive goals, and his 6-year-old daughter asked why.
“I explained that the guy who just scored that goal was going to be eating the same pizza she had tonight,” Jarrett said. “Her mind was blown.”
