Norway soccer fans take over Citi Field stands for Mets vs Cubs game

The New York Mets have some special visitors Wednesday afternoon at Citi Field.

Norway's soccer fans, in the Metropolitan area for the 2026 World Cup, are taking in the day game between the Mets and Chicago Cubs.

Norway defeated Senegal, 3-2, on Monday night at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Their next match is Friday afternoon against France in Boston. They defeated Iraq, 4-1, on June 16 in Boston as well.

The fans, who have adopted the nickname "Vikings" and are famous for doing the "Viking Row" in the stands during soccer matches, have taken over a couple sections in the Citi Field outfield.
