The Iowa high school golf season is now totally in the books, with the co-ed state meet wrapping up on Tuesday, June 9.
Cedar Rapids Xavier's duo of Haley Morris and Jacob Scmit claimed the Class 2A state title, shooting a 70 at the Westwood Golf Course in Newton. Waterloo West's duo of Bree Stegall and Jay McCausland was just two shots behind, finishing in second place with a score of 72. Rounding out the top three was Southeast Polk's team of Anna Wahman and Carter Mulcahy, who shot a 74.
In Class 1A action at the American Legion Golf Course in Marshalltown, North Union's team of Alexis Cummins and Drew Henderson took home the top prize. Wahlert Catholic's duo of Elin Mueller and Alex Ihrig claimed second place while New Hampton's team of Kirsten Nuss and Charlie Kriener rounded out the top three.
