The Denver Nuggets were on the road on Tuesday night as they faced off against the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 5 of their second-round series.

Both teams entered Tuesday’s crucial matchup looking to pick up a victory to gain control of the series.

It was a hard-fought game overall and the Nuggets seemed to be heading towards a victory after their dominant third quarter, but they were unable to hold on as the Thunder outscored them 34-19 in the fourth quarter to grab the 112-105 victory.

Oklahoma City now takes a 3-2 series lead with the victory and they will have a chance to close out the series on Thursday night on the road in Denver.

Despite the loss by the Nuggets, their superstar center, Nikola Jokic, did everything he could to try and carry them to a victory, though they came up short.

Jokic ended Tuesday’s contest with 44 points, 15 rebounds, five assists and two steals while shooting 15-for-25 from the field and 5-for-7 from three-point range.

With this performance, the three-time MVP winner also made NBA playoff history.

Jokic became just the second player in the NBA playoff history to finish a game with 40 or more points, 15 or more rebounds, five or more assists and five or more made three-pointers.

The only other player to do accomplish this feat was his teammate Russell Westbrook who did so during his time with the Thunder.

This is an incredible feat for Jokic, especially after he had struggled thus far in the series, but he was able to turn things around in Game 5.
