While individual champions are basking in the glory of their title win, it has become a little bit of a tradition for their main sponsor to release an ad congratulating them on their accomplishment.

Nike released an epic one in 2025 that gave Rory McIlroy his deserved props for finally winning the Masters and completing his career grand slam. When McIlroy doubled his green jacket collection in 2026, becoming just the fourth golfer to ever win the tournament in consecutive years, many wondered how Nike would outdo their commercial from the year prior.

Here is more on Nike's celebratory ad for McIlroy after he won his second consecutive Masters.

The emotion of McIlroy's 2025 win was perfectly captured in the ad. The fact that it had eluded him for so long was his first green jacket, and allowed him to complete the career grand slam. The emotions were admittedly higher when he won in 2025.

McIlroy becoming the fourth player to ever repeat as champion in consecutive years was still an incredible feat, and Nike's ad doesn't play on emotion like last year; instead, it leans on motivation.

First, the caption on the company's X account was perfect when the ad was released. "No alterations needed" fit since the iconic green jacket wasn't landing on anyone else's shoulders this year.

The commercial features clips from past Masters and highlights how the world's greatest golfers come to the Masters in pursuit of the "historic jacket." The ad then says "but they're wrong," and the screen cuts to all black.

The narrator re-enters with "the greatest golfers in the world don't want a jacket. They want another one." Right after, the music crescendos and McIlroy is shown obliterating a drive, and then the company's "Just do it" slogan appears. It was shorter than last year's ad, but still delivered the point masterfully, giving props to McIlroy and his accomplishment.
