Of course, NHL teams were provided the potential cap range at the board of governors meeting in December. The board meets again today in Vegas and there's a GMs meeting tomorrow in Vancouver, so it's not being kept secret.

Front offices are bracing for a cap under $82M.

We'll soon see where things end up. The rough estimate provided by Gary Bettman at the December BOG was $83M.

#NHLDucks are in the process of finalizing paperwork to buy out Corey Perry this morning. Perry is not expected to be placed on waivers, by virtue of his no-move clause. Big name for the #FreeAgentFrenzy list. #TSN

Jesse Puljujarvi has made it clear to the Edmonton Oilers he wants to be traded. He wants a fresh start to his young NHL career. It’s believed the Oilers are willing to accommodate, but won’t give him away and intend on being patient in finding a right fit.

More than a few NHL GM’s frustrated by the possibility next years cap range won’t be divulged until Saturday. Tough to make trades and do business without knowing the exact cap number.

NHL Board of Governors approved changes/enhancements to video review today. Final approval needed from GMs tomorrow. If GMs say yes, League will release all the specifics tomorrow. The language of the rule changes would still need to be worked on between the NHL and NHLPA.

The good news keeps pouring in for the Blues: today the NHL approved the sale of the undisclosed minority stake previously held by Sports Capital Holdings (Dave Checketts) to the current 16-member ownership group. The Blues are now 100% owned by the local investors. #stlblues
