The 2026 NFL schedule will be fully released on Thursday, May 14, but some leaks are already starting to come through. The first regarding the Detroit Lions is in regards to their international game. The NFL has already announced that the Lions will be host for the Germany game in Munich, but now we have an official date of the game.

Lachlan Murdoch, the CEO of the FOX corporation, spilled the beans during a conference call on Monday, while announcing that the game will be broadcast as a part one of a tripleheader. The official date of the Lions’ game in Munich, Germany is Sunday, November 15 with kickoff expected at 9:30 a.m. ET (3:30 p.m. local Munich time).

This move to the Munich game should be a smart move for the Lions’ international influence. In 2024, they expanded their global marketing program to include Germany, and Lions All-Pro receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown already has a strong showing in Germany given his dual-citizenship, ability to speak the local language, and frequent trips to Germany.
