NFL insider Dianna Russini recently resigned from her position with The Athletic, following the controversy stemming from photos that were published of her with New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel at a resort in Sedona, Arizona.

ESPN's Ben Strauss reported on Friday that the NFL has made a decision regarding Vrabel's status as well.

"NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said the league is not reviewing Vrabel's behavior as part of the league's personal conduct policy, which states players, coaches and executives are required to avoid 'conduct detrimental to the integrity of and public confidence in the National Football League,'" Strauss wrote.

Strauss' report added that the reigning AP NFL Coach of the Year "did not respond to a request for comment," which comes on the heels of ESPN's Mike Reiss reporting that Vrabel won't be speaking to the media until the upcoming NFL Draft.

The 2026 NFL Draft runs from Thursday to Saturday.

Strauss also provided further details of what transpired immediately after the Russini-Vrabel scandal was breaking.

"In addition to consulting with a crisis communicator, Russini appealed directly to the Times Company chief executive officer Meredith Kopit Levien to plead her case, according to five people with knowledge of the conversation. She also coordinated with Vrabel about how to respond to the Post, said a person with knowledge of the communication," Strauss' report said.
