The Miami Dolphins may have selected one of the steals of the 2026 NFL draft when they took Texas Tech linebacker Jacob Rodriguez with pick No. 43 overall in the second round.

The 23-year-old who spent his freshman season as a quarterback at Virginia transferred to Texas Tech and moved to the defensive side of the ball. He went on to earn All-Big 12 honors twice and All-American honors once while loading up his trophy case with a Bronko Nagurski Trophy, a Butkus Award, a Lombardi Award and a Chuck Bednarik Award.

All of that led to the Dolphins taking him with their first pick on the second day of this year's draft, which could give him the opportunity to start alongside Jordyn Brooks as a rookie.

This week, the NFL released an incredible hype video and profile on Rodriguez, where he discussed his journey to the league, and some of the closest people in his life talked about him.
