Jalen Milroe is officially heading to the Pacific Northwest.
The Seattle Seahawks selected the Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback with the No. 92 overall pick in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft, and the league wasted no time acknowledging the move.
"From Tuscaloosa to Seattle," the NFL posted on social media, marking the transition for one of college football’s most electric playmakers.
Milroe, a dual-threat quarterback with elite athleticism, put up impressive numbers at Alabama. Over four seasons, he threw for 6,016 yards, 45 touchdowns, and 20 interceptions while completing 64% of his passes. On the ground, he rushed for 1,579 yards and 33 touchdowns, proving he can be a legitimate weapon outside the pocket.

Seattle’s quarterback room is crowded, with Sam Darnold expected to start after signing in free agency. But Milroe’s skill set makes him an intriguing long-term option. His breakaway speed and arm strength have drawn comparisons to Lamar Jackson, though he’ll need time to refine his mechanics and improve his accuracy.
Head coach Mike Macdonald, who spent years coaching Jackson in Baltimore, could be the perfect mentor for Milroe. If he develops properly, he could follow a similar trajectory, starting as a backup before eventually taking over as a franchise quarterback.
For now, Milroe will sit behind Darnold, learning the system and adjusting to the NFL. But with his raw talent and playmaking ability, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him push for playing time sooner rather than later.
