NFL news, live updates: Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase expected to play in Thursday's preseason game; Fernando Mendoza, Carson Beck meet for first

The next phase of the NFL offseason is officially in full swing. With all 32 teams in training camp, the news continues to flood in leading up to the first full week of preseason action.

Among the top storylines for Thursday's slate of games is the first NFL meeting of Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Fernando Mendoza and Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Beck, who faced off in last year's College Football Playoff National Championship game. Though Kirk Cousins is expected to open the game with the starting offense, Mendoza is expected to get significant playing time to offer fans their first look at the No. 1 overall pick during live game play.

A few teams are expected to roll out their starters Thursday night (at least for a drive or two), including Cam Ward and the Tennessee Titans, Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers, as well as Joe Burrow and star receivers Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Otherwise, it will be an opportunity for fans to get a glimpse at roster depth and rotation ahead of the regular season.
