Texas A&M edge rusher Shemar Stewart only had 4.5 sacks in his three-year college career, but is an intriguing prospect to NFL writers because of his explosiveness and athleticism.
Where could Stewart land in the 2025 NFL Draft? Could he even be a top 10 pick?
Recent NFL mock draft projections have the star Aggies pass rusher going as high as No. 9 in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft on Thursday, April 24, with many projecting him to be a top 15 draft pick.
Check out the latest NFL draft projections and chatter for Shemar Stewart in the 2025 NFL Draft. Which team(s) would be a good fit for the pass rusher?

Theo Mackie writes: "The most likely path for Atlanta still seems fairly obvious: take the top edge rusher available. In this case, that’s Stewart, who makes up for his lack of production with elite athletic traits. At the combine, his 10-yard split in the 40 and his vertical jump showcased the explosiveness that teams covet coming off the edge."
Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz writes: "The standoff between NFL sack king Trey Hendrickson and Cincinnati shows no signs of abating, with Bengals executive vice president Katie Blackburn ratcheting up the pressure at the annual league meeting by saying it's "on (Hendrickson) to be happy at some point." Whether it's as a running mate for the All-Pro defensive end or as his successor, Stewart figures to be the kind of high-upside player who would be of great interest to the Bengals as they try to load up the underfunded defense with young talent."

Jacob Camenker writes: "Meta was bullish on Stewart's potential and compared his physical talent to that of Myles Garrett and Mario Williams. The Texas A&M product only had 1.5 sacks in each of his three college seasons, but there's little doubt he has a high ceiling. Plus, Meta is correct that the Bears "need to boost their pass rush," so grabbing one of the most potential-packed edge rushers is a sensible move."
Ryan Wilson writes: "For an edge rusher Stewart is enormous. He'll play too high at times but he can collapse the pocket with his size/power/strength. He's got a quick first step, even for his size, with the power to shoot gaps. And when the bull rush doesn't get home, his huge frame allows him to knock down passes. He has a hair-on-fire motor who consistently plays with power and athleticism."

Pete Prisco writes: "They signed Leonard Floyd to help the pass rush, but they need more than that. Stewart is a freaky athlete who didn't have the production in his career, but the skills are there. Doesn't it seem like the Falcons have needed edge help for two decades?"
Charles McDonald writes: "Edge rusher isn’t currently the biggest need on the Saints, but it’s not a bad idea to add someone to the rotation here. Chase Young is back on a multiyear deal, but Carl Granderson could use some competition and Cam Jordan isn’t an impact player anymore. Taking Shemar Stewart here from Texas A&M would be a big risk given his production, but the upside is there and he has the size that the Saints have preferred from their defensive line prospects in recent years."
NFL mock draft: Could Arizona's Tetairoa McMillan plummet in 2025 NFL Draft?
Rhett Lewis writes: "The Falcons have essentially had a 'HELP WANTED' sign on the edges since Vic Beasley randomly led the league in sacks back in 2016. Consequently, Atlanta adds the freakiest athlete in this edge-rushing class and looks to turn his elite traits into better sack production."
