On her latest Making Monsters podcast, Taylor Doll is joined by John Bohnenkamp, who covers Iowa Hawkeyes football. They discuss the Iowa offensive line, its role in one of the top rushing offenses in the nation, and how both tackle Gennings Dunker and center Logan Jones factored into that success.

Of all the draftable Hawkeyes, Jones is the one most Chicago Bears fans seem interested in. He’d be a perfect player to sit behind the veteran Garrett Bradbury for 2026, then take over as the starter in 2027. However, if he’s called on to play as a rookie, you know he’ll be ready.

“One of the things they always say about (Iowa Head Coach) Kirk Ferentz players is you don’t have to teach them anything,” Bohnenkamp said on the podcast about Hawkeye o-linemen moving to the NFL. “You know, they come in, they know the footwork, they know the technique, they know all this stuff.”

Jones (6’2 7/8″, 299 lbs) started his career at Iowa as a defensive lineman, but he was quickly coached into a technically sound four-year starting center.

“He stepped in and has been really good. He is a true center. I don’t think you can really use him anywhere else, but I mean, he was the best center in the country last year,” Bohnenkamp said about Jones. “Won the Remington trophy (as the nation’s top center), consensus all-American, really good guy in the locker room. I know Kirk Ferentz really loved him. He won the award we give out to the players every year for being best with the media. Just a really good guy.”

Give Taylor’s show a listen in either of the embeds below, and let us know your thoughts on Jones or another Hawkeye ending up in Chicago.
