According to NFL Network reporter Tom Pelissero, the league informed teams that the deadline to trim training camp rosters to 53 is being moved up by three days, starting this season. The league has historically given teams until the Tuesday after the final preseason game to make the cuts but this year it's on Sunday instead.

For the Steelers, this means they will have just three days after their third preseason game to make their final roster decisions. The Steelers play their final preseason game of the year on Thursday night, August 27 in Buffalo against the Bills.

The NFL informed teams recently that this year’s cutdown deadline to 53 players will be 6 p.m. ET on Sunday, Aug. 30 — not the following Tuesday, as it has been in recent years, sources say.

The Steelers are going to have several huge roster decisions to make, including how many and which quarterbacks to keep on the final roster and now they will have fewer days to decide.
