Bruh, you're relying on Chuck? lol
Bruh, you want me to rely on who?

If you think the national media gives a rip about the Cardinals just remember those are the same douche nozzles that said this team was only bad due to injuries then after JG as fired was saying the Cardinals had a terrible team and no coaches wanted to come here.

Chuck has a vested interest in the Cards. National media doesn’t.

Not sure what this has to do with the Cardinals specifically, McDermott can go sit on a beach for the next two years if he wants and earn $16 million from the Bills for doing so. Not a bad gig if you can get it!
We are one of the only places that is an option for this guy. It means either we didn’t reach out to him or he has said no to us.

Either one is an unacceptable outcome this franchise.

I know itd be a big adjustment for him, but I don’t want Lafleur if he isn’t calling plays.

I’m signing up for an offensive guru that can reshape this side of the ball - otherwise there are guys out there who have better leader energy, game managers, and way more experience
Yeah it feels really weird it he doesn’t call plays. Wouldn’t even having that right be somewhat of a promotion since he didn’t get to in LA?

Otherwise this feels like JG 2.0
JG didn’t do what he was good at, and simply “managed” the overall team on Sundays, aka made decisions when he should call a timeout. McVay and Shanahan seem to be doing just fine calling plays and being a HC on Sundays.

LeFleurs offense sucked when he was HC before, and McVay calls his own plays...we can't go into it believing lefleur would give us an offense reminiscent of the one game he called for the Rams.
He has never been a head coach. And no, it will not look exactly as when he worked with Shanahan or when he worked with McVay, but both have said multiple times how much LaFleur has been involved in the offensive gameplans, so I do believe that he can figure something out. Also, remember that he went through four quarterbacks in his two years with the Jets. That is not easy.

Who cares if he calls the plays. Not calling plays is just a canard/excuse for not wanting him. Right now he seems like the best of a so-so pool of options.

If he IS hired, the most important thing will be how he fills out his staff. If not calling plays gets him a better OC, I hope he doesn't call plays.

I know it's an old concept...but just because the HC isn't calling plays doesn't mean the team isn't running his offense.

He was never a H-C.

I think it matters who calls plays. If you are good at calling plays, you get a HC job. This is why McVay and Shanahan do it themselves, this is a way of protecting their own teams - By not allowing an OC to call plays, they never have to worry about losing that guy. Now Mike MacDonald is going to lose Klint Kubiak, this will hurt them next year for sure.

Just look at the two surprise teams from this year - Chicago and Jacksonville, two HC's who call plays for their team. Today it was announced OC Joe Brady gets promoted in Buffalo to be HC.

Even long term, it's best that LeFleur calls plays IMO so they don't lose a great talent, assuming they could find one. DC's are a dime a dozen. They are available every offseason. We could bring in Raheem Morris or Anthony Weaver and I think be solid on that side of the ball.
