Pete Carroll...6-10 in his first season as a HC,...fired by the Jets after 1 yearI am ok with this list as well. Question for you guys, how many times has a failed head coach found success on his second go around? I think Belichek(sp) is one but I can’t come up with any others off the top of my head. I’m sure there are though
didnt he go the playoffs with Mitch Trubisky?Pathetic
They hire this dude and it will be so Bidbilly

Pete Carroll was fired after his first and only season with the Jets, going 6-10 in 1994 after a 6-5 start to the season. He went 27-21 with the Patriots from 1997-1999, having a .500+ record in all 3 seasons.I am ok with this list as well. Eh. You can argue that both Arians and Whis were that for a while, and then they weren’t. And if they’re not, you fire them after two years.Have we ever hit on a guy like that? Coryell in the 70's is the last I can remember (maybe the only one).
Do you have trust that MB can find the next McVay, Shanahan, or Mcdonald?
Thomas Brown is missing. The current request list is

What does “found success” mean here? And “failed”? Every head coach basically gets fired eventually.I am ok with this list as well. The guy did have a winning record as a coach, despite having to start Trubisky and Justin Fields. I think you’re thinking of Eberflus.Pathetic

I think you did a pretty good job interpreting that yourself. What does “found success” mean here? And “failed”? Every head coach basically gets fired eventually.
Dick Vermeil was seven games above .500 over seven years with the eagles. He took a 15 year break and came back to win a Super Bowl for the Rams.
Andy Reid didn’t win a Super Bowl until his second stop in KC.
Mike Shanahan was 8-12 over a season-plus with the Raiders then found sustained success in Denver.
Tony Dungy was 12 games over .500 in Tampa through six seasons before he got fired and won a Super Bowl with the Colts.
I don’t think McCarthy is any better than Jonathan Gannon TBH.
He is worse than Harbaugh, who is a better leader and program builder, etc. but neither, IMO, advances the Cards from where they are today.
He won’t be able to overcome the culture here. The guy did have a winning record as a coach, despite having to start Trubisky and Justin Fields. I think you’re thinking of Eberflus.
I am the least racist person you will ever meet. The remark is a reaction to the insincere way this organization works.THIS IS GROSS. I HAVE READ THIS SO MANY TIMES ON THIS BOARD SINCE IT WAS ANNOUNCED. The latent racism in calling a black coach's interview a "Rooney Rule" interview is so icky. Whether you (the royal you, slan, this is for everyone who has posited this)mean it that way or not, you are essentially saying that the ONLY reason a black coach is getting an interview, is because he is black. As if running a top 3 D on a 14-3 team isn't enough. Jesus H Christ.
Every one of you who is comfortable typing this sentiment needs to check yourself. Im out on the topic.
Im not responding to any inevitable criticisms of my viewpoint. Go look in a mirror.
