I can't imagine a worse way to go out. Having a HOF career, getting close, getting relegated to the bench and it ending with basically no team wants you any longer. That's the danger of hanging around too long. I get it if you have something left in the tank and can move the needle.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver called tanking the worst it has been in "recent memory" and said he's not ruling out any potential remedy, including taking away draft picks, to stop overt tanking.

That would be awful. I can't see it happening but small market teams would die almost instantly.

There are many other ways to tackle tanking. I think there was a proposal a few years back where a team earns points from wins after they get mathematically eliminated for the playoffs. So if a bad team can't make the playoffs come January then all wins from then on out count towards ping pong balls. I imagine it could be gamed by tanking the first half of the season but that won't go over well in a lot of markets or with players.

Saw that late last night. Apparently his buyout is $1.75m so it might take a minute. Not sure how much the Sixers can pay. I'll always root for the Haboob!
