Leave it to the New York Liberty to make a solid partnership deal with another company that bears their name. Yes, indeed, the Liberty are joining forces with Liberty Mutual.

New York announced a deal that will put Liberty Mutual's logo below the team name on players' jerseys. This gives the insurance company some prime space to get on photos and videos of Liberty players during the 2025 season.

Liberty chief executive officer Keia Clarke talked about the deal in a statement from the team, Sports Illustrated reported.

“The New York Liberty are laser focused on creating a model for business success in women’s sports and catalyzing growth for our organization and league,” Clarke said.


“Longer term investments in women’s sports are what will drive business forward - providing women athletes the opportunity and recognition they deserve – and we are proud to have the Liberty Mutual logo displayed on our team’s jerseys as we pursue another championship.”

Look for LiMu (Emu) and Doug to potentially make appearances at Liberty games throughout the season, too. It's a match made in heaven as the WNBA team and Liberty Mutual both offer name recognition to the New York region.

Also, keep your eyes out for Liberty Mutual to be on the Liberty jerseys when they open preseason play on May 9 against the Connecticut Sun at Barclays Center.

If you are familiar with the Liberty Mutual jingle, then you know that it repeats the word "Liberty" a few times. That definitely will not hurt in putting the "Liberty" name in viewers' heads.

In making this announcement, the Liberty also released a video to go along with it. Sabrina Ionescu, Jonquel Jones and Breanna Stewart show up and offer their own takes on the Liberty Mutual jingle. Actor David Hoffman, who plays "Doug" in the commercials, is also in the video.
