New York Knicks head coach Mike Brown was upbeat during Tuesday’s NBA Finals media day ahead of Game 1 against the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday at Frost Bank Arena in San Antonio, Texas.
In the middle of his press conference, Brown surprised the reporters when he sang Baha Men’s “Who Let the Dogs Out?” For context, the New York Knicks head coach was telling a story about how he used to coach children’s flag football in San Antonio, and the song was what he used to hype up the parents in attendance.
“We were awesome, literally. I was the defensive coordinator, and we actually dominated that league. We had to cheer all our parents… After and before every game, we had to get our parents in with the kids, and the cheer would be: ‘Who let the dogs out? Who? Who? Who?” Brown quipped.
“So that’s for you older – and you’re adults now, right? For all you older dogs back in the day that were six and seven that are now like 30,” he added.

One of the questions the New York Knicks have to answer is how they’ll contain Victor Wembanyama in the Finals, given that he has been arguably the best overall player this postseason. During his press conference, Jalen Brunson expressed excitement about facing the San Antonio Spurs wunderkind.
“Watching him as a player, it’s pretty unbelievable,” Brunson said of Wembanyama via SNY. “The things he’s able to do on both sides of the ball, people have never really seen before for a person at his size. It’s incredible to watch from a fan’s perspective. “
“As an opposing player, he’s someone you constantly have to be on watch for. You just never know the things that he’s capable of doing. That’s why our game-planning and gameplay discipline and attention to details are so important, because he’s pretty incredible,” he continued.
