The New York Giants selected former Ohio State linebacker Arvell Reese with the fifth overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft.
Reese was widely regarded as one of the top players available on draft night. The former Ohio State star is expected to play a major role on the Giants' defense this season after continuing to impress during OTAs this week.
Giants radio host John Schmeelk recently shared his observations on Reese’s performance during OTAs, saying he has been extremely impressed with the rookie’s efforts thus far.
Reese is expected to begin the 2026 season as New York’s WILLlinebacker. The rookie enters his first NFL year with significant expectations and could quickly develop into the next star on the Giants’ elite, young defense.
Reese is likely to continue shining throughout the remainder of the offseason and has the potential to dominate in his first season with the team in New York.

The defensive staff certainly can't wait to see plays like that all the way through once they get into a game setting.
