The New York Giants continued reshaping their special teams unit early in free agency, making a significant move at punter.

Big Blue agreed to terms with former Baltimore Ravens punter Jordan Stout, a move that has led to the release of veteran Jamie Gillan. Stout arrives in New York after four seasons in Baltimore and is coming off a standout 2025 campaign that earned him first-team All-Pro honors while averaging more than 50 yards per punt.

With the agreement in place, here are five things to know about the Giants’ new punter.

Reuniting with John Harbaugh, Chris Horton

Stout was a fourth-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens (130th overall) in the 2022 NFL draft out of Penn State. In his four seasons with the Ravens, Stout had just one head coach (Harbaugh) and one special teams coordinator (Horton). This should make his transition to the Giants a bit more seamless.

Named first-team All-Pro in 2025

Harbaugh is a special teams guy by trade and has always sought out the best options to fill his specialist roles. Stout had an All-Pro season in 2025, appearing in all 17 games, punting 53 times for 2,657 yards, and ranked No. 1 in the NFL in net punting average (44.9) and third in gross punting average (50.1)

Broke and/or set several Ravens franchise records

Stout hit a 74-yard punt last November in a game against the New York Jets, tying the franchise record set by Sam Koch in 2008. He also had two punts of over 70 yards in 2024. Stout's specialty is landing punts inside the 20. 100 of his 231 career attempts have landed inside the 20.
