The New Orleans Saints have met with playmakers from all around the country in preparation for the 2025 NFL draft, and the list of prospects grows ever longer by the day. As this process continues, it becomes generally easier to get a sense of which prospects or position groups the team may be targeting, and which may be of less importance.

So far this offseason there has been a clear emphasis on quarterbacks and the trenches on both sides of the ball, which makes sense given the team's needs so far. This continues as they will soon be meeting with Syracuse defensive end Fadil Diggs, a player who had a breakout 2024 season. Diggs reflected on the contact with teams he has coming up in an interview with Justin Melo of The Draft Network: "I’ve had a bunch of meetings on Zoom. I’m meeting with the Giants, Cardinals, Lions, Packers, Saints, and Jaguars. I have a bunch of meetings."

Diggs had an impressive 2024 as previously mentioned, with 45 total tackles (25 solo, 20 assisted), 14 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, 28 hurries, a pass deflection, and a forced fumble with the recovery. After a five-year collegiate career split between Texas A&M and Syracuse, he now has the chance to take his talent to the NFL and build on this breakout season.

His athleticism is also a strong part of his game, as he received a 9.36 RAS score, calculated by Kent Lee Platte, including positive grades in all of the speed drills and the broad jump. While his size may be a slight detractor at 6-foot-4 and 257 pounds, he could be a quality edge rusher in a 3-4 defense rather than a natural defensive end.

With a likely Day 3 projected value, Diggs will be one of the players to watch out for as the Saints come up to pick.
