Darrell Russell of the oakland Raiders
Now he's currently suspended but he's already applyed for reinstatment. And he's only 26! If he's clean he can be a big player for us! Now the only problem is that he wants to play for Gruden. But they don't have alot of cap room and they already have Sapp. So either they trade or cut Sapp or russell has to find another place to play. Oh it's going to be an interesting summer.

No way would we sign him.

We have discussed this guy multiple times on this board, and what he was accused of would keep almost any team away. His career is over.

I don't want him on our team and in our community.

No way his career is over. Guy has too much talent as a football player. I'm not saying I'm a fan of the guy, just that more that one team will be willing to take a chance on this guy - and pay handsomely for the right to have him on their team.

Yeah---He's eligible to play for the Cowboys now that he has a prison record.

You're probably right, but realize, Russell hasn't actually applied for reinstatement yet and the reason is the NFL extended his suspension. No reason has been made public but as a result the Raiders haven't released him since he's still off their cap. If and when the extended suspension is over he can apply for reinstatement and if granted, then the Raiders will cut him.

Right now it's not clear if he'll be available on June 1 or not it all depends on this new suspension. Local papers are saying it's pretty clear something happened that convinced the NFL to extend it, his agent is apparently challenging it with the NFLPA.
