BOSTON (July 30, 2026) — NESN, New England's premier sports network, will hold its third annual Women's Celebration Night on Aug. 5, featuring a team of more than 25 current and aspiring female broadcasters across on-air and production roles. Emma Tiedemann (play-by-play) and Alanna Rizzo (color analyst) will again lead coverage, including pre- and post-game, of the Red Sox vs. White Sox telecast, anchoring a broadcast designed to spotlight the women shaping the game in front of and behind the camera.

Part of NESN's ongoing Women of NESN (WON) initiative, the annual broadcast elevates female voices in broadcasting while creating meaningful opportunities across all areas of sports media production. This year's event expands that mission by incorporating three young, aspiring female broadcasters into the live production, providing hands-on experience and direct mentorship from NESN's talent and crew. They include:

  • Bella Daddario, who will be involved in reporting, is a 15-year-old rising sophomore from Topsfield, Mass., who is the junior host of NESN Clubhouse and aspires to become a broadcaster, reporter and host.

  • Sophia Alvarado, a rising junior from Chelsea, Mass., will shadow NESN's broadcast team, gaining firsthand experience in sports broadcasting through mentorship from Tiedemann, Rizzo, and the women behind the scenes who bring the Red Sox broadcast to life. Alvarado is a Nike RBI athlete with the Red Sox Foundation's Chelsea Mets program.

  • Karlee McLean, a rising senior from Burlington, Mass., will get a behind-the-scenes look at the making of a live Red Sox game for the Women's Celebration telecast from the production truck, alongside the producers and director of the game. A lifelong fan of Boston sports, she fell in love with watching games on TV and plans to pursue a Sports Communication degree as she approaches her college search.

"These broadcasts have become powerful celebrations of the women who continue to drive broadcasting forward on the field, behind the scenes, and in the booth," said David Wisnia, President & CEO of NESN and Sportsnet Pittsburgh. "We're excited this year to continue expanding on this initiative by providing exposure and opportunity to the next generation."

Tiedemann and Rizzo, who handled the first all-female Red Sox broadcast during last year's Women's Celebration Night, will be joined by a team including studio host Nicole Menner, reporter Sophia Jurksztowicz, and Jen McCaffrey from The Athletic. From the control room to the broadcast booth, women will lead all aspects of the production.

Women's Celebration Night is designed to recognize the impact of women across the New England baseball community, from athletes and broadcasters to production professionals, fans, and families. Throughout the game and surrounding coverage, NESN will spotlight stories that highlight the contributions and growing influence of women in the sport.

Leading up to the Aug. 5 broadcast, NESN will roll out dedicated programming and content across linear, digital, and social platforms, including features from the Women of NESN / Women's Professional Baseball League (WPBL) watch party on Aug. 2, athlete storytelling segments, and original video content focused on female leaders in baseball.

On game day, NESN will also collaborate with Sports Girls Club on a pregame fan activation at Fenway Park, featuring exclusive merchandise, live content opportunities, and on-site engagement designed to celebrate and amplify women in sports.

The Women's Celebration broadcast will air live on NESN at 7:10 p.m. ET, with additional coverage across NESN 360 and the network's social platforms.
